So, I went over to check up on this tank today with my buddy who installed it. I know Jonathan wanted to shoot it as a possible article for an upcoming MR magazine so I am only posting a few pics. THERE IS NO FTS since it requires clearance in advance (high security building) and I'm sure if Jonathan does it he would take better ones anyway. Don't have any livestock photos since top downs are all blurry but I can give a brief list of the good stuff.

Tank: 20,000g display FO .... no WLR

catwalk.jpg

This is the catwalk above the tank and the only way to access the tank directly. Used for feedings and has a dive entrance for maintenance on the tank. It's loud up there.

canisters.jpg

2 canister filters running off a single "smart" pump. Both are backwashed into drains for water changes that take about 15 minutes start to finish. The Water change vat is plumbed inline and all it takes is a few turns of a few handles to complete.

15hp.jpg

The smartest pump I have ever met. 15hp pump with an onboard computer senses when the filters have been cleaned and lowers it's output to reduce electricity and wear. As the canisters clog the pump ramps up it's output to keep the flow constant. It's deafening in here.

flowmeters.jpg

Got flow meters? :shocked1:

UVs.jpg

160w of ultraviolet goodness in line after the 2 biological filters. The second bio filter is the plastic pyramid and it is stationary. The first bio chamber is a tumbling chamber for media.

skimmer1.jpg

The skimmer, because I know people wanted to know what was hooked to this beast. It's a custom job they came up with on their own, very effective.

That is it for now. There is still a computer controller that would make the pentagon jealous, the main sump, the refugium, chiller, and a bunch of other stuff I will leave for now until further notice. Any questions feel free to ask.

Black tip sharks
Bonnet head sharks
White tip reef sharks
Sandbar sharks
3' Queensland grouper (dubbed "Big Daddy" by his current owners, I used to call him Bob).
2' Gag grouper
2' Porcupine puffer
1.5' Stars and Stripes dogface puffer
3' Tesselata eel
School of lookdowns (and yes they school, it's awesome)
Various jacks and other fish along with a ton of atlantic species the owner caught on his boat and put in the tank despite everyones protests.

Jon, call him or me and let us know when you want to go. There's so much more there I had to control myself and just post a few of the pics I have lol.

Once I get certified I fully plan on getting in there but, it has to be soon since those sharks are getting big quickly and that grouper can grow to 9' and that species has been recorded as attacking humans.

Sean, just happened to have my camera with me yesterday so snapped a few shots above the tank and in the equipment room. This is honestly just scratching the surface of the setup. The computer hooked in to everything alone could have it's own thread.
