If you don't already (which you probably do), then you will if you continue with steady maintenance.
All I've done has been to keep it as simple as possible. ATO, skimmer, power heads, 2 returns, weekly 20% RO/DI water changes. The only additives to this tank is Selcon, VitaChem, Vitamin C, Garlic Extreme which the fish & coral's food is soaked in. This is what I have been doing for the past 3 years.

Just a small update since I haven't been around. I'm still alife, my reef not so much.;(

This summer has been really tough on us both. My house is nearing 100 years young, and the wiring is in desperate need of work. Consequently the first floor which houses my tanks has no A/C, and running a chiller is out of the question due to the same issue. The tank temps have reached 85 degrees at times this summer. So the high temps, and the lights not coming on due to those high heats have devastated my tank. I have lost just about every single SPS, and the ones that are hanging on are doing so by the grace of God.;(

My knees' are shot, and I can barely get around anymore much less care for the tanks.

Hey, no pity please! This too shall pass, and my tank & I will be back stronger then ever.......................................

Summer of 2010

So the losses to the heat of the Summer of 2010 are as follows:
Turaki this one really hurt. For starters it came from Rich, and 2nd. it was growing so great. So much promise...
Turquoise Stag from Loismustdie/Chris, another one to cry over, but at least I was able to save a small piece of it.
Purple nana
Tricolor Valida
Sanjay's Mauve acro
Pink millie
Yellow millie
Red Digi
Lemon/Lime acro
Green slimer

And my heart shaped brain.

Plus a couple others of who's names escape me.

Not to worry though. It was not a total loss. The tank is still doing well especially considering what it has been through. Temps as high as 85.5, and no lights for days on end.
I consider myself, and my reef blessed

Nope!!!!

But once I get the wiring in the house up to par, I will then be able to get my A/C installed.

House is going to be 100 years young, and the wiring is probably that old.

Oh yeah, I've had electrician come out check out the place leave with the "once I have the schematic done, and a better idea of how much it will cost I'll be back". Never to return.

Had a member come out to install the circuit breaker for the 18,000 BTU A/C, but he couldn't do it.
You think you can handle it Batt? It takes a 220 breaker.

Time for December, 2010 updates; Tank will be 4 years old this coming February! Thanks MR...
This is not to mean that that the rocks and a couple of the inhabitants are only 4. This particular set up was an upgrade from a 9 year old 120.
