That thing looks great. As for inhabitants, if even crab poop can be too much for it to handle, I would suggest copepods

I would enjoy seeing an update this tank has a lot of potential. if the topoff has shown to be a hassle (I would expect it 1-2x per day manually) you might consider the hamster water bottle trick it works really well in other tanks online Ive seen of this size.
