Hahahahahaha yeah that was me back in the days... I've come a long way n have learned alot from some helpfull ppl here on mr..... One day I'll own a blue spoted sting Ray when I reupgrade my tank to a 500 gal.... But wow that be in a few years hahahahaha....

i vote sand!!!!! started with bare bottom on glass then went to cutting board then went to sand... just looks better now IMO

+1 and def. no crushed coral as you said.
I recommend CaribSea Fiji Pink and if you want to mix, then use CaribSea Special Grade. Both are very natural looking and a good grain size.

Yea definitely don't use starboard or cutting boards..they are total algae magnets.

I get my live sand today went with 200 pounds of Car pink Fiji ok now for my questions...
1.just got a tlf reactor I will be running carbon and phosban media both inside. Witch should go first carbon or phosban media????
2. When should I power on my tlf reactor now while tank is cycleing or once it's done cycleing?
3. Should I power on my skimmer once sand settles down... Or wait till tank cycles??

1 - Phosban on bottom, carbon on top.
2 - TLF Reactor comes on after cycling.
3 - You'll get answers both ways on this. I say run the skimmer during cycling. Others will say wait till cycle is over. Both ways will work and I haven't seen the cycle slow down because a skimmer is running.

u should run them seperately. reason being flow rate: carbon should be strong flow(+ 100 GPH) phosban under 60 ghp.
