Hi all.

I'll have a new list tomorrow, with some more wonderful fish. However, I had to give you guys just a tease. I should be getting a M/F pair of Australian Labouti Wrasses in. I'd really like to keep the pair together, but if two want to split, so be it.

$225 for the pair, $125 each.

Nite all!:type:

michael, i'm interested in the pair.

i would love to see actual pics of the pair when they arrive. (and i would like to first read up a little on them first)

do you plan to get them on before or after shavuot?

Absolutely gorgeous fish, though the one House posted seems photoshopped ( not by House of course:) Just a word of caution regarding this and all Fairy/Flasher wrasses--- you need to cover your tank WELL. It is not a question of if they will jump, but rather when. I know this from way too much experience. Randy

how long would you hold them for to make sure they are eating and alright?

As long as it takes to sell them. I don't mean to be sarcastic. I'm happy to hold fish as long as it takes to sell. If someone wants to buy it today, fine. Next week, also fine. All the fish I have been getting from this supplier have come in beautiful. Most have eaten the day they arrive. I will certainly post pictures and eating results as they happen.

Hope that helps.

even in a 30" deep tank and as a pair? i wouldnt want to cover my tank as it would filter out light and limit gas exchange while trapping heat in the water. i can close the perimeter, but he can still jump onto the center brace.

All of the smaller wrasse you or Hogfish will jump eventually, even in a very high tank. Even a 1" opening is enough for one to run though. So unless you can put some thing in place it's a very large investment to make and take a chance that the fish can and will jump.

Yes it will block light (hence the name light DIFFUSER  ), but it will afford you the comfort of knowing that your other concerns should not be a concern, ie: O2 exchange, trapping heat and jumping.

ok then, i guess i'll pass on these then. while they are beautiful and i do love them, i dont want to get them if they are going to jump.

Light diffuser is not a good choice to block small wrasse from jumping. They can precisely go through the holes even for a wrasse as long as 2"-3" long.

With lower water level, or canoply that has the lowest opening very high MAY solve the dilenma.
