Im not understanding do you heat it to the proper temp or not? Is it rodi water or premixed saltwater? Ive seen the premixed juggs they have their sealed ( unless they sell other premixed water) so why use a used one? Not to sound like a jerk but you said two different things then your girl said something followed by you going against what she said. Its a little hard to help you this way.
On a side note albano lol

To solve this whole issue, rob does not have a tank, nore does my water changes I handle everything. He carries the jugs up my stairs. And I already figured out what was up with my water thanks to a ex max reef employee and will no longer be buying there water anymore first and last time. I heat my water he just never pays attention to what I'm doing cuz he's sitting in my computer chair bit**ing to threads instead of trying to help me lol (sorry to blow up your spot babe) I use pre mixed saltwater ... Carib'seawater if u didnt catch on before, and also use rodi water to make sure my saline level stays the same 1.025ish. If u add nothing but the pre mixed salt water from those jugs you get a salt spike after a while. I'm not careless I love max reef and I trusted them to give me "RO" water. They did not. End of story. I don't want a ro system and will not be getting one because honestly I don't see it as a necessity, in fact I see that as lazy.... I go to the lfs for food... Additives... Corals... Fish... Why can't I get my water from there I'm already making atleast 1 trip a week there. No need for me to get one and mess up and flood my house with my family in it. My 56 hour work week is hectic enough without me coming home to a unexpected swimming pool which I've read about atleast 100 times on here. This wasn't my mess up, or me being careless it was on someone else's accord.

Please don't take what i'm saying the wrong way,i just want to try and help. A rodi is the best thing you can get. Remember that this hobby comes with certain responsibility to our tanks. Your right. A lot of bad things have happen with floods, But there's many ways to prevent floods if you do it correctly. It's just like everything else. A person's husbandry is what makes this hobby successful. Second, I would never put anyones water into my tank unless it was an emergency and i had no choice. You are leaving your tanks health in someones hands and you never know what can happen. Just like when you buy fish from a lfs. They treat their water and i pretty much drip the fish as much as possible before putting it in my tank. No lfs water enters my tank if i can help it. I have over $8000.00 in corals not including fish in my tank and by buying water from somewhere else i would be putting my tank at risk. And sometimes it can take days before you see the full effect and you might not even know by then what was the real issue. If you decide to buy a rodi i could help you both find a way to make it as flood proof as possible. I always make my water in the sink so if it overflows the water drains right into the sink.

I installed a fauset and an inline storage tank for my ro/di unit, when it fills up the storage tank the water flow stops and no floods, i open the fauset and ro/di water comes out.

I've never had a problem with my way of reef keeping, and its the way I've learned from watching friends and relatives for years. i just need to stick with my usual go to places with r.o water... reef keeping wasn't always so technical. there was a time before r.o units. i know people who use straight ny tap water without a issue in there tank and .. tba his tank looks better than 70% of the peoples tanks i am introduced to. i also know someone who has a successful reef tank with no skimmer OR sump he runs a hob filter, and i think hes absolutely crazy but his tank is 9 years old so i'm no one to even criticize that. Thank you for the offer on helping me flood proof my own rodi system but i'm pretty comfortable with my way, and until i have anything dying in my tank or any other issues i'm deff sticking with my routine till something fails (besides rob he fails at everything :fishhit:) he should never of written this post, but then again a store shouldn't sell something as one thing, when its not.

If you are going to get RO water from a LFS, get a TDS meter to make sure it reads 0 before you leave. If it doesnt you can show them something they might not know. Its just a good piece of equipment to check and double check the water thats going into your tank. A good investment I think ($25) if you dont plan on buying an RO unit.
