I've got no problems putting Sean on the list, if he wants that. I know everyone respects the fact that this is his business and that he will charge them for his help.
I don't think he will loose any business from our list, he might even gain some. worst case scenario your tank breaks and everyone else is away on vacation, who else is going to bring a new 120 and set it up for you? not that we want that to happen, but Sean would be a good resource to know about in those cases.
I know even if we did not have the list there are some people I would have called for help, no matter what time it was :)

I would like to be included on the list but like your saying It would have to clear that I'm a buisness thats here to assist. Even late at night. The other service I'm good for is advice you can alway call me at my shop for a second opinion on a system or problem as long as it's during my buisness hours and I'm not busy with costomers I'll talk all day.

Hits and I would like to join the list. I will make sure he gets you all the necessary info. I can be somewhat helpful in an emergency but not as good as him. Sometimes you just need someone to calm you down and keep you from hyperventilating.

so we have 14 people ready for tank emergencies, and pretty much everyone said they would be into the vacation tank buddy system. I think everyone will have a person close to them to call. the only weak spot is staten island, which is kind of ironic because it was Nicks tank crashing that prompted this whole thing. I'm sure others will join in, if you know anyone personally and give them a call to join up.
I'll put the main list together tonight and pm it to everyone on it.
remember if you want to do the buddy system we need to make a chart explaining how your tank is set up, what's in it etc.

for simplicity, that chart could just be left by the tank when away - sort of like a medical chart (rather than keeping a copy of everyone's chart).

before going away, the "buddy" can come by for a quick overview of the tank. (he will also be able to explain it to others if he needs assistance in the event of an emergency).

Also, i dont think there is anything wrong with giving someone a "Thank-You-Frag" if they help you out when you're away.

JH,

I got a call from someone (woman) and a she said something about a pump not working or something like that. She didn't leave a name or a number, so I was kinda freaked cause I knew somewhere out there someone needed help, but I was unable to do so.

Can we make sure that people leave names and numebrs for call back purposes?

really? that's strange.
I would think if you were calling for help you would want to leave a way people could contact you. kind of a common sense thing.
There are not that many people on the list and no one posted anything about a broken pump recently, kind of a mystery.

No mystery, it definatley happened. The woman had somewhat broken english (not so bad) was soft spoken, and didn't leave a name or number. I agree, common sense, but if the person on the list told his sister who was sitting the tank to call, she may have thought that it was a hotline for his tank and that the person on the other line would know?

Not sure, but I felt bad I was unable to help.
