well its good to kno who is close by and share info with them about your tank and if thy would be available to be an emergency back up...spykes and I are only .5 mile away from each other, at the time he didnt know me all too well, but i could have helped when his tank lost water...im not too far from bret and who knows who else. Maybe it would be good to publish a mailing list to see who is in your area, some want to help but have traveling issues...if u kno whos around, i think its wise to network together.

Thats a great idea ,i would help out as well. i dont go away much or for a long time only for the reason i cant trust anyone with my tank ,the last time i went to the caymen island i came home to find my rocks had moved in the tank .My younger brother (who watched after the tank for me) saw a fish had died so he wanted to get it out ,by moving all my live rock around.

I'll take people's info and start to compile a list.
to make this easy lets keep things in order,
name
address
contact numbers
area you will cover
any time constraints or work schedules that are important to know
buddy system yes or no

this is going to take a little time to figure out, if any one has some suggestions on how to organize it I'm all ears. anyone with database skills?
remember there are going to be forms to fill out once house comes up with them. your going to have to make detailed notes about your tank, the equipment, what's in it. just picture yourself trying to fix your tank if something was going wrong. everyones system is a bit different. like Rich said some people may need to be shown how certain equipment works. i imagine some of you have complicated systems.
also we should have a supply list that should be left if we do go away and put people on call, things like salt, RO, test kits, etc should be on hand in case something does happen. that will have to be worked out as well.

am I missing anything?

house how's the list coming? ;) aren't you glad you volunteered for that job :)

Josh can we get MR tank binders? :D
