thanks frank, took a long road to where it is now.
amazing how much planning went into this little tank of mine
and yet it is at a stage where it requires very little maintenance.
the auto top off system i have is a absolutely a necessity.
the only thing i might add is a reefkeeper controller and thats that for the hardware end.

I am a big fan of your tank. I was thinking about that light as well, 17" is just awsome and price is about right. However, I might have to wait little longer for til I upgrade my light to MH. What did you do with your coralife 96w light? Do you want to sell it to me cheap? Please? hehe.

New Lights....

Savager,

Sorry, plan on using the 96w quad in the summer. The new lights increases the temp 2-2.5 degrees. Whats great about the quad light is that it slides perfectly underneath the MH even with the feet.

You'll notice I like to use everyday items to maintain my tank, rubbermaid container for the topoff reservoir, an old speaker stand to change the water (needed to be higher than the tank) etc.

How much did you pay for your light? I can only find it from ebay and it looks like $150 plus $33 shipping. And where did you get the tank top glass? Did you make your own? What do you use on your back compartment? You did take out the whole wall? I noticed that you modified your oddyssea light, how much did you spend it on modifying? I really love your setting. Hopely I can make it something like yours.

How's your lawnmower blenny? I heard that fish is too big for 12G Nanocube. What do you feed on him? I don't see any algae grows on your tank, I am just afraid he will starve to death.

That price is about right. The top lid is a 2 piece acrylic lid 1/4" home cut. Yes, i took out the original bulkhead in favor of a refugium, Maxijet 600 powerhead w/surface skimmer. Upgrades for the light include electronic ballast 150/175w from hellolights $90, 2 ultra quiet fans from Jammeco electronics $8 each. Kept the orig. magnetic ballast for pc since i don't plan on using them much.

Whats really cool about the ballast is that i can opt for a 150 or 175 bulb (some bit of controversy about this)

Blenny is doing great, tookm care of my caulpera problem and yes it will get too big, but hey i can always trade for it. I also feed it Formula2.

Fully expanded blasto....

Fully expanded blasto to the point of transparency.
Once the blue lights kick in the color comes back.
I'm wondering if its getting too much, although too much light usually makes them recede.

Well it finally happened, my JBJ cracked after 8 months. Lucky I was home at the time. I heard a loud crack and saw water leaking from the top of the tank.
Lucky I had planned out such an emergency, had a 15g Rubbermaid handy. I think everything is stablized.

Now I definitely need to upgrade.
Anybody have a 30g Oceanic cube w/the light color wood handy?
You gotta LOL
