I ordered a bunch of light bulbs from aquacave last friday. I paid for premium shipping and everything I ordered was in stock (atleast according to their website). On monday I called because I never recieved tracking information and was told it was being sent out that day and I would have it by Thursday. So today when it didnt come I called and they told me the ati bulbs were out of stock and offered to replace them with geisseman bulbs for two dollars more each. I told him i wasnt interested at which point he put me on hold and then came back and said the stuff is in stock and Ill have it next Monday.

I am really dissapointed in the service I have gotten up to this point, does anyone else have any experience with this site? I would hate to have to go through canceling my order and waiting for a refund to reorder the bulbs from somewhere else.

i once purchased from there, i bought a eheim pump and a couple other things. In three days i got everything but the Eheim Pump. I waited a few days and it still didnt come in the mail so i msged them and they told me it was out of stock and wouldnt be there for another two weeks. It bothered me a little that they didnt tell me in the first place, butttt in the end i got everything i ordered.

I hate to see their business suffer, but with what Im going through I cant in good conscious reccomend them to my fellow manhattan reefers. I was really counting on those bulbs coming today, and Im sure yall can appreciate the dissapointment of not recieving goods on the scheduled day.

I 've only had something ship over from them once and once only. Like you, it was a rush lighting item. But, I called it in. Had it ship over that same day. The only reason I never used them agian is their prices. MarineDepot, Reefbulk, and Reefwarehouse are my suppliers.

I have place numerous dry goods orders with them, really no problems, usually took 5-7 days to arrive, another good company with best prices is petmountain.com(best prices on teh web I think, and usually have 10% off, and very low shipping costs, code now is SEMISALE", and thatfishplace.com, is a bit higher, but you usually get your order in 1-2 days, with no extra charge, if they have what you want, I always got my bulbs form reefgeek.com, best prices, great customer service, and all types.

that's another reason to use our local vendors whenever possible. Not only have I been satisfied with everyone but my expectations have been far exceeded. That said; I ordered from aquacave a few years ago and they were out of stock on a pump. However, they called me the day after I placed the order and were very nice and shipped quickly. I was happy with them. Maybe things have changed..

Premium Aquatics or Aquarium Specialty or local for me. If I can't find it locally, and I'm able to rack up enough for free shipping, it'll be 1 of the first 2; +1 on no sales tax as well.

Jeremy of Premium Aquatics is phenomenal with their customer service. You'll find him every day in their forum over at RC.

I ordrered from aqua cave a bunch of times first time my bulbs came in broken I got new ones the next day now last month it happened again and this time I had to sent them pics of the broken bulbs plus it took almost a week for new bulbs to get here I was very unhappy because I spent a lot of $$$ with them . The good. Thing is I get a lot of cupons from them 10% off 20$ off now I'm going to email them and tell them that they will have to do better then that :)

I experienced the same "out of stock" issue with Aqua Cave. It took a few weeks to get a pump and battery back up I ordered. Now, I understand that they may be at the mercy of the distributor to get their inventory refilled, but their website should be up to date with their stock information. Luckily I did not need anything on an emergency basis.

ok seems the main 2 problems is
1 stock availibility not accurate
2. ships bulbs not packed properly

ive been lucky with the stock issue on the other hand i always get my bulbs from reefgeek.com . when something not in stock they always called me and asked me how to proceed. and packaging was good

That really sucks, if I were you I would just cancel, order today from someone else, at the end of the day your money will be returned. you have waited over a week and paid top dollar for fast delivery. if they didnt have the item in stock they should have had the decency of calling you and informing you. Wait then they have the B@!!s of trying to get more money out of you to cover up for their mistake.

I completely agree. Whenever I want to buy something I call Al (my lfs guy) and give him the opportunity to atleast come close to the price. I understand he has overhead so Ill give a $20 diff on most stuff, but he wanted nothing to do with these bulbs so I ordered them.

I got a tracking number today and my stuff is due to arrive 8/31. Im pissed. If the people who run aquacave had half a brain they would have overnighted that stuff to me. I paid for "premium shipping" and now im realizing I dont even know what the hell that means... I guess it means UPS ground cus thats how its being sent. I wonder what the regular shipping is... maybe they strap the bulbs on the back of a donkey and dangle a carrot in front of its face????

Well they picked the wrong motor scooter, cus I am now going to dedicate a half an hour a day until my stuff arrives to telling my story on every forum involving the aquarium hobby. If those bulbs come broken :irked:... well honestly its prolly not gonna matter cus I will have a stroke lol but should I survive said stroke, they better watch out.

I really dont know wth I was thinking, I ALWAYS order from marine depot but I figured I try something new. Ill keep yall posted
