if you dont have any xenia use a double saddleback butterfly was in atlantis aquarium yesterday and spoke with my friend joe that ownes the aquarium, he said he will devoir them and at the end he is easy to get out.

The problem with Saddlback BF is just like Copperband BF they're very hard to keep, most don't eat and it's still a crap shot that they'll eat the aptasia. Also they're usually only available in large size, though you may see some small ones for time to time, making them not good for a small tank.

Using predators to remove them is a crap shot, though some are better than others it's still a crap shot. The best way is to take the rock out of the tank and chip them off, then rinse off the rock. Unfortunately this isn't something that most people can't do.

Aptasia are hitchhiker, once you have them in your tank they can be very hard to eliminate. They grow almost everywhere, including inside of over flows and places where there is little to no light. So you may think that you may have eliminated them but in reality you're just not seeing them.

I was too lazy in the beginning and they were breeding in the overflow. I then made a mistake of scraping them and caused an explosion. I have tried everything in the market, but the berghia.

If anyone else want some, maybe we can do a group buy. Sick of these aiptasia stinging everything.

Let me know ASAP.

Dude how did you use the Aiptasia X? Sometimes you don't get all of it in the sense that it's not fully covered or it retract before you get to it. I have used it on my tank and other reefer's tanks and they have worked 100%.

Aiptasia-X

well like everythng else in this hobby everyone has different results in the different systems. what worked for you doesnt always work for everyone else.
I'm beginning to wonder if it's because I don't use it correctly. As I've posted in another thread, when I use it they seem implode as expected then spread even more quickly.

yes that i s the same effect that i have gotten in the past. talking to some people who grow out the nudibranches say then use aptasia x to actually help grow out there aptasia tanks to feed the nudi's. go figure.

I agree, but I am just curious as to what you guys did at that specific moment. It takes a crap ton of precision to work correctly. Everything from the way you put your hand in the water and how long you have to have it in there for. If you observe the way mojanos and aiptasia react you'll get what I mean.

I sat there for about 20 minutes seeing how it reacted to me putting my arm in the water. After seeing that I saw how it contracted and when it was fully open and stable. You can't leave ANY gaps for it to release spores. you also have to make sure you bomb it all the way even when it closes down. Scary because you're injecting this pink goo all over your reef but... hey man you have to do what you have to do. Furthermore you have to make sure that's the only one you're getting rid of.

This will work because when the Aiptasia withdraws and feels threatened it will release spores into the water column.
