Macro OR Cheeto ????

i dont know what would be better to lower nitrates and phosphates i have a 75 gallon sump so i can fit alot.

btw im also looking to get some cheeto and macro if any one hase any they want to get rid of.
any help and info would be apreciated

their are some macros that do good in high or low nutrient, and some only do good in high nutrient.

do a mix of few and u will be better off

Chaeto, gracileria, Turtle Grass (Thalassia testudinum) are a few good ones.

Avoid caulerpa (all types)

I agree with dubs, I would go with a good mix like:

Cheato
Red Mangroves
Ulva - can be fed to fish
Red or Green Glacilaria - can be fed to fish
Codium - can be fed to fish

Easy to care, will do the job and if your fish eat this food it will reduce the importation of nutrients in your tank. Hope this helps.

Caulerpa is an extremely invasive species. It is outlawed in Ca and to transport across state lines. Here's a brief summation:

I have that and chaeto mixed in my sump lol I never knew it was bad

Besides being invasive, caulerpa can go "sexual" and when it does it's a HUGE mess and a possible wipe if the system can't handle it.

Yeah I'm gonna scoop it all out tommorrow morning and give it away or set it out to dry, what sucks is that it's got alot of pods in it! Better safe than nuked
