I raised the sp.gr. to 1.025 and waited overnight for mixing. The new results are only slightly better. Alk = 4.00 meq/L Ca = 300 ppm Mg = 1080 ppm Still not what would hope for. Next time I buy, I will try Tropic Marin if there are no other suggestions.

How many of you have quarantine tanks? If you do, how do you manager the changing bio-load when the tank does not have fish in it? If you use new water each time you put the tank into use, does the tank cycle every time? What type of filtration setup is best?

Thanks for the replies. Do you have a name for this stuff? I have it growing in a couple of locations now and I think I'll let it grow a little more before I get one yellow tang. I have a 75-gallon so I think I could keep one tang as I only have one Royal Gramma at this point.

Thanks for the response. It is in sheets, so it must be coralline. Everyone talks about the purple colors so I didn't recognize the green to be the real stuff.
