  1. Multi-Color Angel and Light Intensity

I bought a multi-color angel on 2/8. Right out of the bag it swam around the tank and ate. On 2/13 I cleaned the lens on my pc lights . I have 260 watts of pc lighting on the tank. Now it stays behind the rocks and will not come out into the open. When I feed, it eats what the current takes...

  3. fluxuating TDS readings on my RO/DI output water *%$@#$%$@!%

I use the Kent Marine Maxxima Hi-S 65GPD RO/DI and see the same thing. I use a 32 gallon Brute trash can for my water. I also mix my saltwater in the same can. I have notice a reading around 22 on my RO/DI. It is due to the salt that has been mixed in the can. Plus the can has a lid but it...
  4. Four Regals and a Rhinopias

What size are the Regals? The Regal Angel is my favorite fish as well.
  5. A CHEAP CYNO SUCKER!!!!

You can also do the samething with a turkey baster, just on a larger scale.
  6. Best Lights for $600

The livestock I have limits what I can keep. I have thought about keeping some ricordia, in addition to some additional mushrooms. I prefer the look of pretty fish over the look of corals.
  7. Best Lights for $600

I am looking to upgrade the lights on my 105 gallon tank. I have $600 to spend on lights. I had thought about buying the new Custom Sealife 48 4X65W POWERCOMPACT/MOON-LITE HOOD for $265. I then thought I may out grow it's capabilities. So I am asking what would you buy with $600 for lights. I do...
  8. Berlin Style - FO Red Sea tank

Unless the tank is 6 ft. long, I would skip the Sohal. I had thought of doing a Red Sea only tank. I had planned on stocking a Regal Angel, a Purple Tang, and a Masked Butterfly.
  9. Inverts that a butterfly/angel will NOT eat?

I keep cleaner shrimp, feather dusters, snails, crabs, and mushrooms with my angels. I have a Red Sea Regal Angel, a Goldflake, and a Flame Angel. They do not bother anything in the tank.
  10. Question for Kent Marine Maxxima Hi-S Owners

I just put together my new RO/DI unit. I was not able to install the top membrane and get the 3/4" depth on the end that was in the instructions. I could only get a 1/4" depth on the membrane in the cartridge. Is that normal or should I try to force it in more? I put quite a bit of pressure on...
  11. It's a rocky road ...

You can buy pvc cuplings to support your rock. You will find them in most hardware stores. The reason some people don't put the live rock directly on the surface of the sand is to keep a larger surface area of sand. Placing your rock on the sand is ok. Keep in mind some animals like to...
  12. almost there. now question about live rock

If your tank is still cycling, I would suggest placing the rock in the tank and it will cure with the tank. If your tank is already established, then cure the rock in a container seperate from the tank.
  13. upgrade or not

Here is a good nano reef site, http://www.nano-reef.com/
  14. Crushed Coral to Live Sand

I would start with a new DSB, and seed it with a couple of cups from your old substrate. If you place new sand, Southdown, over the old substrate of CC and Agronite you will eventually have the Southdown on the bottom and the CC on top. I have seen this happen first hand to a friend.
  15. How long do you UV?

I am curious as to how long you run your uv sterilizers. I recently reinstalled my uv sterilizer. I was wondering if any of you only run your sterilizers when you introduce a new fish, partially each day, or 24/7?
