They are beautiful! You guys are really pushing me towards those SPS. Not a good thing for poor hubby.:lol2:

Hey Auto, you need a kole to take care of that algea on those zoas. Everytime I dropped a zoa from Ronen into my tank, my tangs would attack them. Any, and all algea would be gone within 10 min. no lie.lol

I'd go with a Kole. The powder brown doesn't get too big but it'll start pacing and freak out in less than a four foot tank (IME) much less a 50 gallon. The powder blue is much worse than the powder brown in terms of tolerance to small spaces.

The Kole should be right at home there though plus he'll help with any diamtom blooms. A dwarf angel is a good way to combat algae as well and they don't have the grow out problems that tangs have. Just make sure to keep them well fed so they don't snack on your corals.

Fish town usually has some in stock. Unfortunately no on the tangs, they're all built for speed and sprinting which doesn't do well in small tanks. It's like a greyhound in a studio apartment. Eventually they freak out and go nuts unless they get to "run" every now and again.

I think some of the vendors had some as well.

Yes it is, but you will have upgrade as it grows to a good size, and needs lots of swimming room. I have one, haven't told hubby yet but we are head for a fish room in our basement with 250 at least.lol

By the way just incase, that is a Powder Blue Tang. But I'm sure you knew that..

That frogspawn is a hybrid ,probably mixed with an anchor (seeing more and more of these lately). If you need to transport fish, 2 hrs is not much to worry about. Even if you can't find oxygen somewhere to fill the bags, just use a little bit bigger bag and put them in a cooler wrapped in newspaper with a lunch box cooler in there but away from them if you are that worried.

little update.....
so i found muntiple hairline crack on 2 sides of my sump.....it had me thinking if i should downgrade but came to the conclusion that i wil rebuild a new sump....run a eheim 1262 internally and want to try a different skimmer....still want recirculating but might put it in the sump too.......smaller fuge ....i not sure yet.....but a new sump has to be built...i dont want to come home to a flooded basement...(knock on woood).........i wasnt too happy with my aquascape because placing corals was limited.....i have been slowly collecting more sps frags and with the swap coming up...i have a feeling im gonna end up with more......so went to the LFS here in philly(the hidden reef....cant go wrong with 2.89lb for LR and they let u fish in thier huge bin yourself)...came out with a bunch of flat pieces.....had them cycled for 2 weeks
and this is what i came up with last night(10pm-4am reaquascape)had to remove all livestock ...finish the scape and let the system run for about 2 hours and placed all livestock back(more work than i thought!)

old rockwork [aquatinics tx5]

new rockwork [outer orbit 2x150w mh 4xt5]

IMG_1331.jpg

made this aquascape in 1 shot and really liked it...so gonna keep it like this.....now the top has alot more room with the flat pieces and lowered the rockwork from the top of the water for more growoout space....
picking up 2 phoenix 14k's at the swap (cant wait!):thrash:
