First an almost fts from last year.
I had a complete crash when moving and lost all my fishes and corals in that tank. So the fishes on this two photos is not alive anymore (but got a new achilles and olivaceus)
But the reef is growing back fast :birthday:

And here is a tribute to my old friend that passed away when I was in the mountains (last Christmas holiday)
I miss both his personality and beauty.

Ah, that Achilles you see in fts died with the rest of the crash last spring/summer. I only had him for about 2 years.
I got a new one now.

The reason why I run more than one skimmer is that I cant upgrade to a more powerful skimmer because of height inside the stand. There will only be 2 running, as I'm selling one of them.
It is a design aquarium painted in Germany with 2 layer silver metallic carpaint (possible to use all RAL colours on Softline)
It is of my opinon the worlds nicest aquariums (The softline series) the Flagship of the worlds best aquarium producer (Deltec). So I dont want to mess up with loads of noisy equipment around it when I finally could afford it haha.
http://www.deltecaquariumsolutions.com/aquariums.php it is the one pictured without bowfront.

The last month has been very busy, and I have been little on the forums lately. Time ahead is more relaxing, so I'll check this forum much more often. To be honest, I completely forgot my new account at manhattan reefs :splitspin

That is right Josh!

I have been running the tank all the time without Ca reactor.

But.... I'm kinda tired of dosing so much additives.
And it is less effort for my friends when I'm gone (out traveling) to take care of the tank.

So... I ordered a Deltec PF 601S a week ago.

Norway is a small country, and not all product are in stock.

I bet that you didn't know that one of the largest coral reefs in the world,, is actually located in Norway.
But most of these corals are not phototrophic, and rely more on filtering the water.

I managed to make a superb mistake a few months ago.
I was cleaning some equipment, and when I was finished, I wanted feed the corals with plancton and other nutrients (+vodka and vinegar)..

I was just supposed to leave the power off for 30 mins...
It was quite late, so I just relaxed on the sofa while waiting (before going to bed)

Woke up next day, incredible late.... And all my anthias and my deepwater Coco angel was dead (Centropyge joculator, ventralis anthias + other anthias)

I ran towards the power buttons to give them flow, since oxygen depletion was the case.

Very sad, but luckily the rest of my fishes survived... I am not going to do that mistake again....

After this mistake, I was searching the market in europe for a new Centropyge joculator, but no luck..

But the solace was that I finally found my favorite anthias specimen that have actually become a quite rare sight over here: Pseudanthias bartlettorum - 2 males and 7 females (The plan was one male, but one of the females were a male)

The even bigger solace, was that i FINALLY found a nice male of the specimen Xanthichthys mento in the Netherlands. His name is Fido (Karl Oskar) and has become one of my favorites. I have only had him for a month now.
I had the choice of choosing between the goldenback trigger Xanthichthys caeruleolineatus (which is even more rare) the crosshatch triggerfish and the tang Zebrasoma gemmatum. They all actually costed about the same. My decission landed on the crosshatch, since I think it is VERY beautiful fish.

So here is a few pics of my new and social mate:
Xanthichthys mento - male ca/about 22cm/9 "
