The skimmer is well built, I am impressed and the fit is perfect. The only thing I am concerned about is the skimmate production. I am still breaking it in so I will have pictures of that once break in is complete. All in all a very well built piece of equipment.

Here's my newest problem. I thought the lights had burnt out, so I planned on making an LED fix for the lighting. Saltwater Critters got me some power brites and I am in the process of installing them. Well after getting things pened etc, I found something wierd. It's not the bulbs at all. There is something wrong with the ballasts and one of the wires was not in too good of shape. Looks like it was melting. So needless to say all the lighting got removed yesterday and the Blue LED's were installed. All in all about an hour worth of work once I figured out what and where everything did. The moon lights are the only thing I am keeping from the original lighting. The Blues make this thing glow! Can't wait for lights on to take pics!.

hey chief, you need a new ballast? i got one brand new but its for a 24 aquapod, dont know if you can use it, if you want it its yours for free, the thing is brand new from package, dont have any need for it let me know...

Moved the clowns in this tank to my 34 Solana. Nothing left in this tank. Took some huge losses with a tank move in the big tank. Deciding on breaking down this tank or keeping it running, and if I leave it running what to put in it.

Sjsoto, this angler tank will not be a histrio histrio tank like my last one. I am going to go for an Antennarius type true angler this time.

If I recall correctly (quoted above), you already decided what type of tank this was to be. Now you just have to execute the plan!

unless u get the pippefish eating frozen and are able to feed a couple times a day dont think it will support pipefish as they search and feed all day

Have you always had the sapphire skimmer for the 14g or did you buy it recently? I'm looking to buy one

Lighting upgrade is under way also added the Sapphire Aquatics skimmer for the BC14 today. Pics to come.

I had a Jann's Pipefish many years ago. It was a great addition to the tank. Jann's are even capable of survival in a reef tank. I had mine for about 4-5 years.

OK I had a brain fart last night. I was thinking about some Skunk Clowns and a hawkfish.


Thinking that might be nice. No anglers, they are awesome fish but the feeding of them is a pain in the butt.

but I read up on the tank size recommendations and they say about 30g+...
