Don't do a dsb area "Please",,lol they are over rated and nutrient sink,.. Just use some rock and some Form o9f caleurpa prolifera I can mail you some..
I dont know about that. I have done my homework plus everyone that I know with a dsb has an outstanding tank. I heard more horror stories about calerpa than I did about a dsb. Its only going to be 6" deep. And the space is only 12"x12". The entire ocean is 1 big deep sand bed. Think about it!

Leak test #1 failed. Had 2 drips on the left side bottom corners plus the bottom of the bubble trap wasn't sealed. No biggie! Nothing weld-on 16 can't fix..Patched it up..Will check it again tomorrow. No bowing what so ever.

Bleached my 30 gallon by accident. My friggin luck....

Before I left for work I forgot to switch back the halide timer to go on and off. Halides stayed on for 3 days straight. Came home yesterday morning and the tank was 95 degrees.
Majority of all my nice high end sps that I was gonna put in the new tank are bleached. lps, acans all dead. A few fish and inverts dead. skimmer cup overflowed made a mess. My house smells like coney island beach.
From what I can see only a few zoas and the digis survived.

My friggin luck! unreal!

Me and Knockout got some work in today. Placed the tank inside the house so that the ground would be level when putting the outer wood on the stand.

Bought a compressor, sander and finish nailer to make life easier. Can always find something to fix or build after this stand is done. Anyone who needs tools, take a ride to freight Harbor. They have every tool you can possibly need in there. Cheap to!

Nail gun works nice..tiny holes. attaches nicely.

Grooves were cut in the wood so that panels can slide in with ease.

All thats left to do is add the panels and the doors. Tank taking shape.

Started back up the 30 yesterday....Got some live sand from reef & pond. I dried out all the dead rock from the crash. Drilled some holes in it to fit the frag plugs I'm using. Cycling has started. Ammonia is at 1.0.
