I would have to agree with the link. Good reputable breeders do not list their dogs on puppyfind.

Puppymill dogs come with akc papers as well. Plus the papers are useless unless you plan on showing or breeding. And good reputable breeder will only give you limited registration papers so that if you do breed your dog (which should be prohibited per the contract), you will be unable to register them with the AKC.

Did you bring the pup home already? Parvo is very contagious even without a infected dog present. Enjoy the new pup.

He's 15 weeks old and had his parvovirus shot.

Great! I think there are 3 to 4 rounds of shots. But I would still be cautious and check with a vet or someone knowledgeable to see if it's ok. Parvo can live up to 6 months I think. Post a pic of the pup.

I'm also taking my puppy to the vet the day after he gets here

Our vet told us because we just got puppy, no contact with other dogs yet. A distemperment shot once a month for first 4 months then a booster. After 3 month you can take it for walks and around other dogs that you know are up to date on shots. And no Petco or Petsmart till all series of shots is done. Then you can take them for puppy training

Really? I took mine to petsmart yesterday. He has all his major vaccines and is going to to the vet today. I was going to take him for a long walk today maybe I'll hold off.

She said because so many dogs go into those stores you dont know what they have. She also said the puppies have its mothers antibodies in it as a puppy and susceptible to illness. It builds its own during the 4ths till the shots are done and the booster is given. Hold off the first 4 months. I let mine run in the yard.

Did you clean your house and yard with bleach to kill the parvo virus?

Yes I cleaned the house and yard, he has his parvovirus vaccine so should I still be concerned? Now I'm really worried. His appointment is tomorrow with the vet at 10:30!

Just took him for a mile walk, need to work on heeling but so far so good.

BTW, saw the post about taking your dog to Petco or Petsmart for training. I used to work in Petsmart and believe me, save your money. A good book will do much more and cost a lot less! Although some don't like him, I love the Dog Whisperer show. Great tips for training on there.
