Here are some pics as promised. Still trying to get a handle on my crappy kodak point and shot. Here are the best shots I could get without a tripod and just my shakey hands.

Thanks Wes, the tanks finally starting to come together.

A little update, I'm changing out my bulb to an Ushio 14k from a Phoenix 14k. I chose this bulb because Randy(Prattreef) runs them over his 240.

I also finally was smart enough to ask someone(sanjay) if you really need "special deluxe" UV protecting glass for a fixture and to my surprise a tempered piece of glass is all I ever needed. So i finally get to get rid of this oversized piece of glass and get something taht fits my pendant :).

Looking good so far Kris. Keep it clean and it will all come together. I like the approach you're taking on this tank :).

Thanks Rich! I'm trying with this one, softies and LPS are 100times more forgiving, although I do have 1 or two SPS here and there.

I started usign carbon, changing it every two weeks when I do a water change. Just using the year old rock and a korolia #3 seem to be doing the trick. I'm doing B-ionic 10-15ml every 2 days.

Brooklyns,
Thanks, I don't get what you mean:confused::lol2: I think its good:lol_large

Kris, you can use carbon and the pad in a hob, just be very careful to keep and eye on them. if they get clogged up the hob will flood.

how did the sand do? did you wash it, and did it ever have a cycle?
