LED and parts costs $70, the aluminum strip is $10. I had the rest of the tools and everything.

I'm going to hang it up under my light so it blocks minimal light.

If I were to get a blue spotted jawfish or a mystery wrasse, I will put a DIY cover on it. I actually have all the material for it except the netting.

They are pretty damn strong. I'm not sure PAR wise but I didn't get them for PAR, I got them cause they make corals pop out like crazy and the shimmering effect. Much better than the Powerbrites.

i've seen the leds in action yesterday. THey're insanely blue/bright.. I thought my blue +'s made things pop.. HELLL NO. The actinics looked white after viewing my tank with these leds.

nope, just blue LED's. no backlight at all.
