Kathy,

I'm still trying to get a FTS that captures the depth of the tank, all the FTS's I take end up looking flat like my tank is 6inchs front to back

J,

I've got my carbon anchored with a piece of LR rubble to prevent it from floating up. If i add the polypad I'll definately keep a closer eye on it. The sand worked out great! Ended up tossing about 10-15lbs but the tank needed a nice sandbed. As far as I can tell I never experienced a cycle and if i did it wasn't noticable.

All the coral are settling in nicely, seeing as they basically haven't moved since I upgraded. Everything is glued down and happy in their spots :).

I added two false percs to the tank today, me and my gf just couldn't resist:D.

More pics to come soon.

Kris, you can use carbon and the pad in a hob, just be very careful to keep and eye on them. if they get clogged up the hob will flood.

Yep, I adjusted the flow intake on my HOB aquaclear so that the water volume was at least 1/2 inch from the cover, or the bare minimum that would allow the water to return to the tank. I also cut (or folded) the polyfilter so that it would match the water level. If the polyfilter ever got clogged, water would essentially flow over it and continue through the HOB. That was my way to make sure if it doesn't overflow.

FYI, I had 2 HOB filters--- one housing Chemipure and the other, Polyfilter and Purigen. I found this to be a pretty good combo. It also added more flow FWIW.

But like J said, keep an eye on the HOB(s)--- mine was in plain sight so I couldn't ignore them.

Thanks for the insight Q. Mine is in plain sight too. Tanks open top so I see it everyday for at least a few minutes.

Just added the percs to the tank, big sixline bothered them both once and left them alone. Guess he just wanted to let them know he's the boss.

Heres a pic of a new addition to the tank, an ALL green torch  Thanks K.

Happy to say my two Petco addition children, Penny and Dime, the perc's are going really good. Eat like crazy and are growing. I even saw Penny, scare my male sixline, she's a mean one. Other than that got a new toadstool from Harry and everythings growing well.

Tried for that FTS but its not happening.
